On the significant occasion of 'Annual Day Celebration' of our vidyalaya,

 I extend heartfelt welcome to Sri P.V.Sai Ranga Rao,Hon’ble DEPUTY COMMISSIONER, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangthan, Hyderabad Region, the 'Most Distinguished Chief Guest'.

He is a great administrator and academician and he has been a great source of inspiration to all the schools. Indeed, we are very fortunate to have you this morning amongst us. A hearty welcome to you sir.

 I extend a warm welcome to Sri S K Sinha, Deputy Surveyor General SOI & IISM, Hyderabad & Chairman Nominee, VMC, the Guest of honour,

who manifests keen interest in guiding us in all matters related to the smooth functioning of the Vidyalaya. I extend a warm welcome to you sir.

 I feel privileged to extend my heartfelt welcome to all the honourable members of the VMC, invitees, guests, Media Personnel, K V No.1 Alumni associations, beloved parents and guardians on this Significant  occasion.

 I am glad to present the “Annual Report” of the academic session 2018-19 before the dignified gathering.

At the outset, I fee elated to share some of the noteworthy achievements of our Vidyalaya. Our Vidyalaya was established in 1972. Our school has been  providing quality education and creating global citizens by grooming its students for all round, harmonious and holistic development. It is expanding the horizons of the world beyond the text books for which the Vidyalaya is crowned with five the most coveted awards, First Model School, Smart School, Star School, Accreditations by NABET (Quality Council of India), International School Award (2012-15) by British Council and ranked as First Best School in Andhra Pradesh / Telangana and 9th position at All India level among 800 Government day schools in the Education World Survey, received 2 times with the most prestigious “GREEN SCHOOL AWARD” from “The Centre for Science and Environment" for the Academic Years 2010-11 and 2015-16.



Our students participate in competitions conducted by various prestigious organizations.


Our vidyalaya secured 100% result in class X and XII during the academic year 2017-18.


Kumari Vineeta Potru and Gande Surya secured 0.1 CBSE Merit certificate in Business Studies subject with excellent PI. Mrs. Mithali Basu, PGT Commerce was the subject teacher.

Kumari G. Deeptishree of class X received 0.1 Merit Certificate from CBSE in Hindi. She got 99/100 in Hindi subject. Mrs. Sonali Maitra, TGT Hindi was the subject teacher.

KVS Certificate of Merit 2017-18: Kum. S.Sruthi of class X received KVS Certificate of Merit 2017-18 and a cash award of Rs.5000/- for her position in the top 1.5% of KVS Students in All India Secondary School Examination 2018 conducted by CBSE.


In collaboration with Vigyan Prasar, a Science camp was organised at our Vidyalaya from 2nd to 6th July 2018. During this Camp/workshop, 20 Astronomical telescopes were made under the guidance of telescope makers (resource persons) from Vigyan Prasar.

A total of 40 students (20 each from Hyderabad & Ernakulam Regions) participated in this workshop.

The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. E. Prabhakar, JC (Training), KVS HQ.


03 students reached 2nd Level in International English Olympiad.


03 students reached 2nd Level in National Science Olympiad.


Four students were selected for National Level National Children’s Science Congress Held at KV, IIT, Kanpur during December 2018




226 students of classes VI to XI learnt German language during the academic year 2018-19. 19 students appeared for FIT exam and all the students got success in it. Kumari Sharanya was topper with 59/60 marks.


Mast. Koustav Sahoo of class III E scored 100/100, a perfect score and topped the state level.

78 students participated in the National Level Exam and 61 Students were qualified for the International Level.

10 students received the merit certificates + medals.

61 students participated in the International Level Exam on 14.4.2019(Sunday) and the results are awaited.

The Principal received a certificate of appreciation from Spell bee International for their continuous encouragement support and guidance.   

Commerce Olympiad 2018 All India Excellence and Merit rank holders of class 12B,11B

Our students participated in Commerce Olympiad and 06 students bagged All India excellence and merit certificates.  

An article of Kumari R. Ashritha of class VIII A was published in Jigyasa magazine published by CCMB, Hyderabad.The topic was “Latest Developments in Biological Science”

Kumari Manaswini of X B Participated in National Level Quiz organised by TERRE in the plant category and has been awarded certificate of honor.


Realizing the importance of games and sports, the Vidyalaya provides necessary infrastructure and training for various disciplines in sports arena.

At National level, our vidyalaya bagged 19 Gold medals and 18 Silver medals at National Level.

At SGFI level, our vidyalaya bagged 08 Gold medals, 08 Silver medals and 05 Bronze Medals.

Received cash award of 2,35,000/- and the amount was disbursed to the students

Major Activities / Innovative Practices under taken during the session 2018-19


An exclusive program for youth was conducted by Shri. Ramakrishna Math, Hyderabad. 06 students participated in it. Master Hemanth Srivastava of class XI science reached final round of the program.


As a part of Behtar India Project, 400 students of this Vidyalaya took part and collected 100 Kgs newspapers and old note-books for recycling and reuse with a purpose to save trees.

As a part of KVS JCSIR Jigyasa Program students visited CDFD and also NEERI. 

Nearly 500 students participated in WOW (Wellness out of waste) drive. It is an initiative of ITC and GHMC. The students collected 3,200 Kgs newspapers and old note-books for recycling and reuse with a purpose to save trees.

Under the able guidance of our dynamic Principal, the teachers and the students participated in the programme with a great zeal and a great concern for the environment.


Our school organized swachhata pakhwada and involved all the students and staff members in the activity. We inculcated awareness among the students about their role in ensuring healthy environment.


We have the following enrolment in Scouts and Guides wing:

Cubs=224; Bulbuls=200; Scouts=114, Guides=118  Adult Leaders=24

06 Scouts and 05 Guides participated in Pre- Rashtrapathi Testing camp at K V2 Golconda.

12 Scouts and 12 Guides attended for the Rajya Purskar Testing camp at KV AFS Begumpet.

7 cubs and 8 bulbuls participated in the cubs and bulbuls utsav and won the overall championship shield.

2 scouts B.Sai Prasad and Mahender Reddy received the Rashtrapathi Scout Award Certificate.

Mrs. Hameeda Ghouse Guide Captain attended the Pre-ALT Training course at Pachmari and successfully qualified.

FREE BEING ME- ABC workshop was organized and conducted at KV 1 Uppal. this workshop was to develop body confidence in children and adolescents.

BOOK BINDING WORKSHOP: On 11th and 12th October, Dwitiya Sopan Scouts and Guides took part in Book Binding Workshop held under the guidance of CCRT Officials.


Cadet Sisira of IX D secured prestigious deputy Director General NCC award commendation card for outstanding performance.

Cadet Tejasvini and V.Rahul of IX class participated in National integration camp.
Cadet Harini of IX class was selected for All India Mountaineering camp at Gwalior and won Gold Medal.


Postal Savings: 26 Students along with 4 teachers have opened a recurring deposit in Postal Savings and have successfully completed 3 years in the Month of February.


Traffic Safety Week:

The Road Safety Week Programme was taken up from 4th February to 8th February. It started with a rally which was organized by Road Transport Authorities under the guidance of Shri.Parvinder ,Motor Vehicle Inspector and his team in which 50 N.C.C / Scouts and Guides students took part encouraging people to wear helmets and seatbelts.


Philanthrophy: In the month of July , The entire Primary came together to help the Auxillum Nava jeevan Orphanage ,Uppal,  by giving soaps, toothpastes , Hair Oil in bulk.

The entire school participated in “Donate a book Campaign” in which each child donated a book to under privileged children.

On 9th December, 2 Scouts and 2 Guides along with Guide Captains Mrs.K.Sharmila and Mrs.Hameeda Ghouse collected Blankets and distributed it to the people sleeping on the roads.


As per the instruction  of the KVS, we have adopted   Mandal Parishad School , Chilka Nagar, Uppal.  We invited the students of the school on Regional sports meet  and other occasions.

On the occasion of Regional Social Science Exhibition held at our vidyalaya ,  the students of Mandal Parishad School , Chilka Nagar, Uppal were invited to visit our Vidyalaya. The students visited the exhibits. They also witnessed the ongoing competitions like SPELL BEE COMPETITION, CREATIVE WRITING COMPETITION, GROUP DANCE COMPETITION, SOLO DANCE COMPETITION ETC.

Smt.Jannet TGT (Science) presented a “Demonstration lesson on Science subject” through a PPT.  A team of teachers led by the Principal visited Mandal Parishad School , Chilka Nagar on the occasion of science exhibition. The Principal motivated the students of Mandal Parishad School.


Free eye check up was taken up by Medi eye Care and also under Kanti Velugu programme , glasses were given to the children and staff.


The Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) is a flagship initiative of Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog, Govt. of India, for creating an ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship in the country. 

K. V. No. 1 Uppal registered for ATL Lab in 2016 and we got selected in second phase i.e. list 2 of 200 schools.

Students participated in RoboFest-2019, conducted at Sanskriti School, Kondapur and bagged 2 prizes  one in Senior category and one in Junior category.

These two teams got an opportunity to participate in International Level ROBOFEST-2019 at Lawrence Technology University, Michijen USA, from 16th – 18th May, 2019





Our school bagged second prize in Harith Vidyalaya Award from KVS Regional office Hyderabad.



03 teachers of our Vidyalaya i.e. Mrs. MP Vandana Devi, PGT Biology, Mrs. Sonali Maitra, TGT Hindi and Dr. C.H. Durga Rao, TGT Sanskrit secured much coveted “KVS REGIONAL INCENTIVE AWARD” during the year 2018-19.


12 Teachers of Class X and 03 Teachers of class XII received Gold/Merit Certificates from KVS authorities for achieving high quality results. 02 Teachers of class X and 04 Teachers of class XII received Silver / Merit certificates for achieving good quality results.





Nearly 250 students participated in “MAHATMA GANDHI RASTRIYA BHASHA HINDI PRACHAR SANSTHA “ Examination With 100 % result, and , 4 students got gold medals.

A Poem titled “UNCCHAI KA SHIKHAR” was written by Mrs. SONALI MAITRA  T G T  (Hindi) . It was published in the magazine published by KVS , Delhi.

A Poem titled “Nari ki mahanta” was written by Mr. Sudarshanam,P G T ( Hindi). It was published  in “SAMAHIKA MAGAZINE” published by K V S   Regional office ,Hyderabad.

Article with the title “Kaavyeshunaatakamramyam, Naatakeshu Cha Shankuntala” written by  Dr. Ch. Durga Rao, TGT – SANSKRIT, Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 Uppal has been published in the first National Sanskrit Annual Magazine released by Hon’ble Commissioner, Shri. Santosh Kumar Mall, KVS New Delhi in the year 2017-18.


  I take this opportunity to thank all the members of PTA, distinguished guests and beloved parents, guardians for rendering their help in maintaining a meaningful interaction between parents and teachers, resulting in the all-round development of the Vidyalaya and its students. Lastly, my sincere thanks and deep sense of appreciation are due to my dedicated and hardworking team of staff who put in all their efforts for the welfare and education of students. My appreciation to all my  beloved children who have contributed their best in all the curricular and co-curricular activities to bring laurels to themselves and  to Vidyalaya.

   We are looking forward to have the continued support of all the well-wishers, for taking the Vidyalaya to still newer heights & achievements in the years to come.

      which is ever inspiring :
