Most Distinguished and highly acclaimed Chief Guest of the day’s function Shri. U. N. Gurjar,Additional Surveyor General, SOI & IISM , Hyderabad & the Chairman, VMC, the Guest of honor Shri.U.N.Mishra, Deputy Surveyor General, SOI & IISM, Hyderabad & Chairman Nominee, VMC, worthy members of the VMC, beloved members  of the PTA, distinguished guests, dear parents, guardians, Press and media persons, invitees, staff and my dear children.

  On the very auspicious occasion of 36th Annual day of the Vidyalaya , it gives me immense pleasure to extend a hearty welcome to the Chief Guest, Shri.U.N.Gurjar,Additional Surveyor General, SOI & IISM, Hyderabad & the Chairman, VMC. He is a great administrator and academician. He has been rendering his yeoman services in various capacities in the survey of India.  Sir is closely associated with the Vidyalaya and has been a guiding light in all our academic and administrative endeavors. Indeed we are fortunate to have you this morning amongst us. Your presence adorns and embellishes the programme. A hearty welcome to you sir.

           I also extend a warm welcome to  Shri.U.N.Mishra, Deputy Surveyor General, SOI & IISM, Hyderabad & Chairman Nominee, VMC, who takes keen interest in guiding us at every step in all matters related to the smooth functioning of the Vidyalaya. A warm welcome to you sir.

    I am privileged  to extend my  cordial welcome to  all the elite dignitaries, members of the VMC, invitees, guests, Media and press personnel ,K V No.1 Alumni associations, beloved parents and guardians on this momentous occasion.

Pursuit of excellence with sincerity of purpose is what we at Kendriya Vidyalaya strive for. Our school is astanding example of what leadership with vision, commitment and discipline can achieve.

Looking back at our journey of 45 years serving the cause of education, we are both happy and proud at the thought of the memorable milestones we have crossed, the great stridesmade in pursuit of excellence.

 

 I am glad to present the Annual Report of the academic session 2016-17, before the august gathering.

At the outset, I am glad to share some remarkable and conspicious  mile stones of the Vidyalaya. Our Vidyalaya was established in 1972 since then our vidyalaya  has been providing quality education and churning out global citizens by grooming its students for all round, harmonious and holistic development. It is expanding the horizons of the world beyond the text books for which the Vidyalaya is crowned with five the most coveted awards, First Model School, Smart School, Star School, Accreditations by NABET (Quality Council of India), International School Award (2012-15) by British Council and ranked as First Best School in Andhra Pradesh / Telangana and 9thposition at All India level among 800 Government day schools in the Education World Survey, recieved 2 times with the most prestigious “GREEN SCHOOL AWARD” from “The Centre for Science and Environment" for the Academic Years 2010-11 and 2015-16.

 

  Some more feathers in the crown of the Vidyalaya are  recently added: 

  • BEST SCHOOL AWARD  from INDIAN DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION for  social activities for the academic year 2015-16
  • Swatch Vidyalaya Puraskar : K.V.No. 1 received  Swatch Vidyalaya Puraskar by KVS (HR) for the year 2016-17
  • Make A Difference Award: KV1Uppal bagged 1st position and Best School Award  among all the 10 schools participated in Train Green Programme conducted by HSBC.
  • Lakshmi Mazumdar Award:  Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1, Uppal, Hyderabad bagged first position in Bharat Scouts and Guides Lakshmi Mazumdar Award Competition,  for dedicated service Community and Community devopement done during  the  year 2015-2016.

 

Alumni Association : The distinguished passed outs of this Vidyalaya who are in eminent positions are in constant touch with their second home, K V 1 Uppal: Our Vidyalaya  Alumni Association has been quite active  and is becoming stronger and by contributing  their mite in taking Vidyalaya to greater heights. The Alumni Association of this Vidyalaya expressed sublime gratitude to the Vidyalaya by turning one of the rooms into FIRST AID ROOM with all the amenities and the necessary fixtures. Viz: Air conditioner, Refrigerator and other First Aid Equipment, on 15.08.2012. Besides this, an LCD Projector was also presented to the Vidyalaya which is installed in the Dept. of PhysicsThey have been felicitating their teachers and taking up noble charitable activities at various orphanages.The Alumni of KV No.1 Uppal who are both in abroad & India got constructed the circular benches around the tree trunks for their younger brothers & sisters to sit during lunch time & to witness games / sports on the play field. Mr. Sanjeev Jain from USA has recently sponsored the most prestigious “Lead India” a 3-day workshop to the students of KV No.1 Uppal for “Value based education & patriotism”.

 

Our School Website: Keeping in tune with the modern technology, we have computer-based learning, e class rooms, German Language e-class room .The school has umpteen number of software modules connected with internet and LAN. Technologyis  put into greater use for all the day to day academic, co-curricular and administration purpose.  Useful information about the school regarding admissions, pay bill, examinations, results, alumni Association, achievements of students and staff etc. are put up on our website which is updated from time to time. We have full complement of staff with Principal, H.M., 9 P.G.Ts, 19 T.G.Ts, 24 P.R.Ts and 4 miscellaneous subject teachers on regular basis.
 Three Computer instructors, two teachers for FMM,6 PRT’s,4 TGT’s , One Dance Teacher, 1 PET,Three coaches for hockey, Rope skipping and yoga, well qualified counsellor, staff nurse are appointed on part-time contractual basis. 3 office staff, 3 Lab attendants and 4 sub Staff are also rendering their services. Security, gardening & conservancy services have already been privatized in our Vidyalaya, 1 TGT(Hindi) ,Vice principal  and one LDC posts are vacant in which part-time contractual teachers are working except for the post of Vice principal  as per KVS norms. In addition 6 PRT’s 3 TGT’s  All my learned team members are highly competent, and well experienced.They are striving hard and making fervent and commendable  efforts to cater to the educational needs of the children and their all-round development.

 Modern facilities on the campus: The school is second to none with modern facilities on the campus. There are 47 Spacious and well ventilated class rooms, fully established eleven (11) e-class rooms with e-learning Software. I AM GLAD TO INFORM that SANGATHAN HAS SANCTIONED 12 MORE Projectors along with WIFI IpadsTO THE SCHOOL. A well-stocked and maintained library, 3 computer laboratories ( 3 LAN connected) ,four Well-equipped science laboratories (Including one junior science lab) and German e-class room, A primary Resource–cum-activity room with broad band connection, A teaching aids  room ,A S.U.P.W room (For children to learn by doing ),A music room with a number of musical instruments to bring out and nurture the hidden talents in children ,well ventilated and spacious Yoga hall  for the harmonious growth of students & to widen  their mental faculties, separate spacious  play grounds for primary & secondary classes with Basketball courts , Hockey ground etc., and Two staffrooms (for primary and secondary ), 12 CCTV Cameras were installed in various places in the campus to provide round-the-clock vigilance.

Student Enrolment: The Vidyalaya has classes from I to VIII  with 5 sections each ,IX & X with 4 sections each & 3 sections in XI and XII with Science, Commerce and Financial Marketing Management which is a Vocational stream. The total strength of the students as on date is around 2130. This is the most sought after premier school for admissions.

Scholastic / Academics Achievements:  The name and fame of any educational institution is determined by its performance in both internal and external examinations. In this regard, I am happy to announce to this august gathering that our CBSE Examination results for the academic year 2015-16 are :

Non-Scholastic / Co-curricular Achievements:

i)          OLYMPIADS 2016: Meeting excellence in quality education is the key amongst the student community in Science and Mathematics which is the prime aim of Olympiads. We have been encouraging the students to participate in many reputable competitions. A good number of students participated in the Olympiads and achieved laurels to our Vidyalaya.

 

 ii)           Students are encouraged to take part in various Olympiad exams like cyber Olympiad, science, English, mathematics, commerce Olympiads in which 24 students  have qualified for next level  and received  1 distinction certificate ,merit certificates and medals.

 

 iii)         NATIONAL CYBER OLYMPIAD : 03 students in National Cyber Olympiad and 06 students in National Science Olympiad  and 08 students in International Maths Olympiad have been selected for the second level .

iv)  COMMERCE OLYMPIAD 2016: 36 students of  commerce and FMM stream of class XI and XII have participated in commerce olympiad 2016 and  Cleared the First level.

           Mas. Osman Khadri of class XI and Mas Anunay of class XII received gold medal , Mas.Phanindhar of class XII, Kum.Tanuja ,Kum.Sai Nandini and Mas.Mallikarjun of class XI  received silver medal and Mas.Sriram ,Mas.Arun kumar and Mas.Sisir  of class XII received Bronze medal.

  v) GUINNESS WORLD RECORD: Mast. VASU MEEN  of class V participated in The Largest Taekwondo display consisting of 991 participants organised by M.R.Bobbili (India) in  Hyderabad on 3rd September 2016.

vi)12th All India Art Exhibition : All India Art exhibition was conducted by KV Rajhamundry ,20 students sent their entries for this exhibition from this vidyalaya and kum Adrija Devi of class II and Kum SamikhshaGoel of class XI bagged Gold Models.

vii)  Brilliant Trophy: Kum.Nisha Baheti Participated 124th Brilliant Trophy Open Chess Tournament on 10th ,11th September 2016 organized by Brilliant chess Acedemy under the  aegis of  Hyderabad British Chess Assosition.She scored 3 points out of 6 rounds and  she received a trophy & merit certificate.

 viii)  INTERNATIONAL VISITS OF THE STUDENTS OF K V NO.1 UPPAL

a)    VISIT TO JAPAN: Kum. Medha Ganapathi Raju of Class-XII Science got selected to visit Japan under SAKURA EXCHANGE PROGRAM.  She visited JAPAN from 6th November 2016 to 12th November 2016.

b)    VISIT OF FOREIGN DELEGATES: 25 Teachers from Columbia visited K.V. No. 1, Uppal, and Hyderabad on 23-11-2016 to observe teaching of English Subject and to interact with the teachers in collaboration with EFLU, Hyderabad.

  ix) NCSC: 24th National Children's  Science Congress 2016-17 :

      KVS Hyderabad Regional Level NCSC was held in the Vidyalaya on 3rd   and 4th    Nov 2016.

       352 students from 41 KV s of Hyderabad Region took part in the Science Congress.

       Boarding and Lodging facilities were made in the vidyalaya Premises.

 

Four students Kum  Shruthi – IX – B, Mas .D. Harshavardhan Reddy – X – D, D. Akshara Reddy – X – D and T. N. S. Vandita – X – A were selected for KVS National Level Science Exhibition held at K.V. Ballygunge, Kolkatta in December 2016.

x)  SOCIAL SCIENCE EXHIBITION:

 

The following students  of this Vidyalaya took part in various events conducted in National Level Social Science Exhibition held at K.V. No.2, Delhi – Cantt. from 05th November 2016 to 7th November 2016.

i.   Hannah – VIII – C Solo Song Competition

ii. Maruthi – VI – D Solo Song Competition

iii. Jahnavi – X – C Hindi Debate

xi) Quiz Competition

       Kumari Sansita of Class VI B has won a prize in the quiz competiiton held in the month of july - 2016, conducted by the children's magazine. She received a cheque for Rs. 250 /- towards cash prize. The photo and correct answers were published in the september 2016 issue of the children's magazine. 

       CRIDA(central Research Institution of Dryland and Agriculture) has conducted Quiz ,elocution and painting competition for school children on 6-4-2017 in their premises.

       Kum. Siri chandana of class 9A and Mast. Murali Karthik Reddy of class 9A  got 3rd prize in Quiz competition.

xii) HINDI EXAMS: 28 students of this vidyalaya appeared for various levels of Hindi exams conducted by AKHIL BHARATIYA RASHTRABHASHA VIKAS SAMITI,MUMBAI .

       110 students of this vidyalaya took part in National Hindi Talent Search Examination held on 16th November 2016 conducted by National Educational Institution.

       Mast Vishnu Teja of class IX/D got state level 3rd rank in National Hindi Talent Exam, Conducted by National education Institution

xiii)       GAMES AND SPORTS:

Realizing the importance of games and sports, the Vidyalaya provides necessary infrastructure training and material for various disciplines in sports arena. Besides participation and excelling in inter-house competitions, many students of our vidyalaya took part at the regional, zonal, and national levels and got selected in various events of sports and games at the prestigious all India & SGFI Level.

  SCOUTING & GUIDING:

Enabling students to inculcate the qualities of self discipline, social service, resilience, community living and co-operation among different communities and prepare them to face adverse situations, Scouts & Guides Wing of the Vidyalaya is quite active with an enrolment of 570 as the  contingent .They are trained in several community services. They also participated in various Social service activities like blood donation camps ,sensitization on classless transactions under community development program cleanliness protection rally in collaboration with Lion’s Club Hyd .

The following scouts and Guides were  qualified and got Rashtrapathi Award for the year 2016

Activities Conducted:

        On 6-8-2016, 34 scouts and 29 guides participated in Dwithya Sopan Testing Camp, 45 Cubs in Chaturtha Charan and 63 Bulbuls participated in
Heerak Pank along with 20 adult leaders at KV1 Uppal.

       12 scouts & 12 guides participated in Trithya  Sopan Testing  camp at KV CRPF,HYD on 26th August -28th August 2016

       2 Scouts and 3 Guides participated in Pre Rajya Puraskar Testing Camp at KV Bolaram on 16-07-2016.

       12 Cubs & 12 Bulbuls Participated in cub &Bulbul Utsav at KV Kanchanbagh on 24-26 th Non ‘2016.

       Thinking Day was celebrated on 22-02-2017 .

       Communal Hormony week was celebrated from 19th to 23rd Jan 2017.

 

 

Road Safety Week :-

Road Safety Week was  observed by the vidyalaya from17.01.2017 to 23.01.2017. Vidyalaya   has encouraged the students  by organizing variety of programmes related to the road safety.

 

 

 

NCC: To develop Character, Comradeship, Discipline, Leadership, Secular Outlook, Spirit of Adventure, and Ideals of Selfless Service amongst the Youth of the Country, NCC Unit is quite dynamic with an enrolment of 100 under Junior wing . This contingent takes an active role in various competitions and attending several training camps at NCC 1 TELANGANA Battalion

ACIEVEMENTS IN NCC 2016-17: 16 Cadets were selected for inter unit competition held in the month of September 2016 .Out of 16 cadets 6 were selected to inter group competition in the month of Novenber’2016. Out of 6 cadets 2 were selected for Pre RDC in the month of December’2016 .Finally Cadet K.BHAVESH of class IX B and K.MADHUNISHA OF CLASS IX A of this Vidyalaya  participated in the prestigious Republic day camp and won Gold and Silver medals. 

 

YOGA ACTIVITIES: Yoga for healthy living. Healing the world with healthy individuals, we begin our morning assembly with Omkar chanting &Brahmari Pranayam.

  On 22-June-2016 International Yoga Day was observed at Vidyalaya

Hindi Fortnight Celebrations: Hindi Fortnight was celebrated from 14th to 30th Sept. 2016 in a befitting manner. Various Hindi literary competitions were conducted for the students as well as Staff members on the occasion of Hindi Pakhwada Celebrations.

Celebration of Constitution Day

26th November 2016

Constitution day, also known as samvidhan divas, was  celebrated in our vidyalaya  known as the architect of the Indian constitution .It was followed by a quiz  on indian constitution. the students participated in the quiz actively.

Mathematics Day CelebrationsMathematics day was celebrated on the occasion of 129th Birthday of Great Mathematician Sri. Srinivasa Ramanujan by presenting various activities  and anecdotes by the students and teachers.

German Activities  : A 2 day Camp in German Language Study & Trekking Camp sponsored by Goethe- Zentrum in November 2016 at Deccan Trails in which 10 students & 2 teachers participated.

        With the encouragement of our Hon’ble Deputy Commissioner, German Language classes are offered to the students of classes VI to XII  as additional language.

     

Unity Run: On 31-10-2016, students participated in Unity Run on the occasion of

Sri Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel’s Birth Anniversary, to express their unity and solidarity.

 

GUEST LECTURES AND CAREER COUNSELLING:

 

       An extension lecture on "Financial Education in Schools" was organized by SEBI (Security Exchange Board of India) for Class XI & XII Comm. & FMM Students. The lecture was delivered by Mr. G.Simachalam, SEBI.

       Lead India Workshop: A Lead India workshop was organized in the Vidyalaya from 11.4.2016 to 13.4.2016 on Personality Development. Mr.AkkineniChandu and Mrs. Pooja Jonnalagadda were the Resource Persons. This was Activity based program.

       A Lecture on Career Launcher  -by Mr. Ram Prasad  organized by CL-LST Hyderabad. 

       A Lecture in the field of computer was organized to bring awareness about career in Computer Applications and Graphics.

       Mr Vishnu Vankayala ,Southern Regional Co-ordinator for Asian Pacific University ,Japan Conducted the Career Guidance programme for the students of class XII.

       A lecture on importance of S.A.T for the students of XI and XII was organized.

        A lecture on learning methods and Career options ,Leadership in Education was also organized.

        A Guest Lecture on Hindi Grammar by Mr.C.R.Ramchandran ,Retired Asst.Director (Administration) Hindi teaching scheme  Ministry of Home ,Govt Of India. 

       Faculty from National Stock Exchange were engaged in guiding the students of FMM Stream in Financial Markets & Career Opportunities.

 

CMP ACTIVITIES: 2016-17

   

       CMP CULTURAL EVENT : CMP Cluster Level Cultural Meet was held at KV Nalgonda on

27th Jan 2017 ,28 stuudents participated students got Gold Medal, FIRST POSITION IN GROUP DANCE COMPETITION.

       CMP SPORTS MEET : CMP Cluster Level sport Meet was held at KV MAHABOOBNagar  on 20th  and 21thJan 48 students participated and  our vidyalaya bagged FIRST POSITION(gold) IN KABADDI GIRLS , KHO KHO GIRLS ,KHO KHO BOYS AND SECOND  POSITION IN KABADDI BOYS 

c)    AWARENESS ON TRAFFIC RULES: 28th road safty week was observed in our vidyalya from 17th jan to 24th jan ‘2017 under which various activities like Quiz Road Sign Recognition ,creative writing and Road Show were taken up .Class V students took part in modal making of perfect cross road along with their parent to show Parental bonding. Interactive  sessions by traffic personnel were taken up for both primary and secondary level with the support of IDF. 

d) Donate a Note Book Campaign: Cubs and BulBuls of our vidyalaya took active part in donating notebooks to the children  of Asha orphanage as part of community work.

 

e)   DWITIYA SOPAN TESTING CAMP: Chaturth Charan tests for Cubs and Heerak Pankh tests for Bulbuls were conducted. Students also participated in Drawing, Making greeting cards, clay modeling etc. A skit was presented by Cubs and a dance was presented by Bulbuls in Camp Fire.

 

f)    SADBHAVANA DIWAS : An activity on peace & harmony by cubs and Bulbuls was organized on Sadbhavana Diwas. Primary students wore dresses depicting different Religions and passed the message that God is one.

 

g)   SWATCH BHARAT CAMPAIGN: Swatch Bharat Campaign was inaugurated on 16-10-2016. Students decorated their classrooms under this programme & took part in Swatch Bharat activities throughout the year.

 

h)   AEP WORKSHOP : AEP Workshop was conducted in the Vidyalaya for Scouts and Guides and NCC students who in turn acted as mentors for their peer group. Guidance and counselling is integrated with AEP activities carried out on monthly basis for VIII to XII classes in the Vidyalaya.

 

i)     CHILDREN’S DAY:  Children’s day was celebrated  on 14-11-2016 by conducting Fancy dress competition and it  was followed by  Community Lunch and games.

 

J)   GRAND PARENTS’ DAY was celebrated on 14-11-2016. Senior most Grand Parents were felicitated and some events were conducted for Grandparents and prizes were given.

 

K)     Vigilance awareness week : Vigilance Awareness week was observed and several activities  lke guest lectures and  competitions were conducted in this regard.

 

L)  Postal Recurring Deposits  : 25  students  of class V and VI in the month February  have opened their Savings accounts in post office  in order to develop the Quality of Saving Money.

 

    M) St john’s Ambulance First aid course :A 2 day workshop on 15th and 16th  April ‘2016 and 6th August’2016, was conducted by Dr Mohsin ,Master Trainer from St John’s Ambulance association ,Koti which focused on many topics like CPR, Choking Heart Attack etc.23 NCC cadets and 15 S&G participated along with 8 teachers   .

EXCURSIONS AND  TOURS :

       Students of this Vidyalaya from primary 1ST AND 2 ND CLASSES were taken to NTR PARK  and secondary were sent for excursion to GRAND VILLA RESORT, ESCAPE WATER PARK ,WONDERLA at Hyderabad in the month of November, December & JANUARY - 2016.

 

 

b.    Adventure Activity: 40 students with 4 escort teachers are now on adventure activity at Kulu Manali since and 20 Scouts and  Guides with 2escort teachers will be going to Pachmari in June 2016.

 

TEACHER ACHIEVEMENTS:

1. Shri Rangi Satyanarayana,TGT (Sanskrit) of this vidyalaya received the most prestigious National Award for the year 2015 for his meritorious services as a teacher from Hon’ble President of India on 5-09-2016

2. Shri B.Sudershanam, PGT (Hindi) of this Vidyalaya received KVS innovation & Experimentation Award for the year 2016-17 for his innovative project in school education from Shri Prakash Jawadekar, Hon’ble Minister for ministry of HRD, New Delhi on 15-12-2016.

3. Mr. Anil Kumar, PRT of KV.No.1 Uppal represented Andhra Pradesh and Telangana NCC Directorate as Contingent NCC officer and was awarded with prestigious Defence Secretary Commendation card and Gold Badge in recognition of his services towards NCC activities.

4. Mrs E.Jannet received KVS Regional Level Incentive Award for the year 2016-17 from KVS (Hyderabad Region) on 15-12-2016.

5. Mr. B. Sudershanam received BEST HINID TEACHER AWARD from Natonal Educational Institute, Nellore for the year 2016-17 for his meritorious service for promotion of Hindi language.

6. The Vidyalaya has grown in leaps and bounds to its present stature; Hearty thanks to the community around us. We owe our deepest sense of gratitude to our  honourable  Chairman VMC, Shri. U. N. Gurjar, Additional Surveyor General, SOI & IISM , Hyderabad & the Chairman, VMC and  Shri.U.N.Mishra, Deputy Surveyor General ,SOI & IISM ,Hyderabad for his gracious presence in the function and time to time guidance and immense support for the smooth functioning of the Vidyalaya.

  I take this opportunity to thank all the members of PTA, distinguished guests and beloved parents , guardians for rendering their help in maintaining a meaningful interaction between parents and teachers, resulting in the all-round development of the Vidyalaya and its students. Lastly, my sincere thanks and deep sense of appreciation are due to my dedicated and hardworking team of staff who put in all their efforts for the welfare and education of students.My appreciation to all my  beloved children who have contributed their best in all the curricular and co-curricular activities to bring laurels to themselves and  to Vidyalaya.

  We are looking forward to have the continued support of all the well-wishers, for taking the Vidyalaya to still newer heights & achievements in the years to come.
